Ceratopsia is the name given to the large family of horned dinosaurs. One of the earliest ceratopsians was Psittacosaurus; the most well known member is the much larger Triceratops. They were common late Cretaceous dinosaurs that fed on low-growing plants. All ceratopsians had certain characteristics in common - frills (Torosaurus had frills approaching 7 feet (2 m) long), beaks, and dental batteries.
