"Damalasaurus" (meaning "Damala lizard") is the informal name given to a genus of herbivorous dinosaur from the Middle Jurassic, (Bajocian stage, around 160 to 175 million years ago). It was a sauropod, though its exact classification within the clade is unknown. Fossils of "Damalasaurus" have been found in China. Found in Tibet, the name was coined by Zhao in 1985 and two possible species Damalasaurus laticostalis and D. magnus are known, but there is no description of either. Apparently they could have been related to Euhelopus or Brachiosaurus .
The type species, "Damalasaurus laticostalis", is a nomen nudum named from fossils recovered in Tibet. A second species, "D. magnus", also exists. Neither species has ever been fully described, though the name was published (by Zhao) in 1983.
